Mr. Charalampos Thanopoulos has a diploma in Crop Science, Specialization in Vegetable Crop Production and a M.Sc. in Modern Systems of Crop Science, Plant protection and Landscape architecture (Specialization in Plant Physiology of Vegetables), all from the Agricultural University of Athens, Greece.

Babis (his short name) is serving as a trainer of adults / farmers, certified by the National Accreditation Centre for Continuing Vocational Training (EKEPIS) http://www.ekepis.gr/main/ , in topics of vegetables cultivation (conventional & organic cultivation and open field & greenhouse production) for the Institute of Agricultural Sciences (Legacy of Ifigenia Sygros, Ministry of Rural Development and Food).

He is involved as an associate researcher for Agro-Know Technologies, Greek Research & Technology Network and Laboratory of Vegetable Production of the Agricultural University of Athens in several EU projects (WACOM, CerOrganic, eCOTOOL I.S.L.E. Erasmus NetworkRural Inclusion, LaProf, Organic.Edunet, bio@gro, Organic.balkanet)
Babis has strong experience in the development of Learning Objects (training material) in agricultural topics (bio@gro), implementation of metadata schemas for the description of learning Resources (Organic.Edunet), exploitation of digital repositories (Organic.Edunet), creation of educational scenarios (Organic.Edunet, CerOrganic, Organic.Balkanet), identification of competences for professional training (WACOM, eCOTOOL, CerOrganic), design and development of Application Profiles for the online representation of Job profiles and training Opportunities (CerOrganic, WACOM, eCOTOOL).
